WORST BIRTHDAY EVER

CRASH! I fell off my bed and landed on the floor, waking up on the floor. I had hoped someone would say “Happy Birthday!” as the day began, but as the hours passed, I realised that no one in my family had wished me well. My cousin just said, “Hurry up, get ready so we can go.” She didn’t even acknowledge my birthday, and I felt a wave of sadness wash over me. It was as if they had all forgotten.

Once I was ready, we hopped in the car. I shouted, “Bye, Mum! Bye, Dad!” but my cousin snapped, “SHUT UP!” As if it wasn’t even my birthday. Despite that, we drove off to eat, which definitely lifted my spirits. Afterward, we cruised around looking for nice places to visit.

Then my cousin said, “I want to take you somewhere special.” When we arrived, I suddenly heard familiar voices calling my name. To my surprise, my parents and siblings appeared, shouting, “Happy Birthday!” It turned out they hadn’t forgotten at all they had planned this surprise the whole time.
Surrounded by colourful balloons and my family’s love, joy flooded over me. I turned to my mum and asked if I could go on the hot air balloon. “Yes!” she exclaimed, because she had bought one just for me. My cousin and I climbed aboard, and as we floated higher, I leaned over the side to admire the view below.

Then, out of nowhere, my cousin jumped, and I lost my balance and fell out of the hot air balloon. AHHHHHHHH!!! As I landed, my mum rushed over, anxiously waiting for news. Fortunately, the doctors said I was lucky because I only fractured my spine.LUCKY!! As i screamed i am not lucky but my mum said “ it’s alright the the doctors said “ it would heal in about five months.

One cloudy, rainy day, I went to school, excited because it was the first day of Term 4. I was so thrilled that I skipped my way to school. When I arrived, I hugged all my friends before heading to class, where I greeted my teachers. As I sat down, I suddenly remembered we had an immersion assembly that day!
When the bell rang, we gathered on the mat for the assembly, which was streamed live. I was so happy! The first person to appear was Mr. Burt, who announced the theme: “May the Force Be With You.” He even did a fun dance that made everyone laugh.
Next, it was Team 1’s turn. They put on a skit about “The Three Little Pigs” with a twist. Instead of the wolf huffing and puffing, Ms. Hockley joked, “That’s so 2020,” and knocked all the houses down herself! It was hilarious.
Then came Team 2, who set up a marble run. They demonstrated how marbles of different sizes rolled through the course at different speeds. The larger marbles moved more slowly, which was really cool to see.
Team 3 followed with a fun song about aeroplanes, and I really enjoyed it. Their part was quite entertaining.
After that, Team 4 took on a challenge to see who could build the best paper aeroplane. They had to follow detailed instructions, and the plane that flew the furthest was the winner. The one with the most careful design went the furthest.
Finally, it was Team 5’s turn. They taught us about sound and vibration using rubber bands. They flicked the bands like guitar strings, making little vibrations that created sound. Some people even flicked the rubber bands at others, and we could hear the sounds they made. It was really cool and super interesting!
When the assembly was over, I felt like I wanted it to keep going, but I was still so happy with how the day had turned out. It was a great start to the new term!
